US CARES ACT FIRST INTRODUCED 1 YEAR BEFORE WUHAN VIRUS DOCUMENTED BY WHO

HB 4729 – Appropriates Funds for COVID-19 Coronavirus Response – Michigan Key Vote – A bill to set aside funds for Covid-19 was first introduced in June 2019, 6 months BEFORE the WHO announced the first cases.

Key Highlights:

Appropriates $50 million from the Department of Health and Human Services in a one time gross appropriation for the Coronavirus public health emergency and health care capacity (Sec. 102).

Appropriates $40 million from the Department of Technology, Management, and Budget  in a one time appropriation for COVID-19 virus monitoring, infection control testing, and other immediate needs (Sec. 103).

Appropriates $35 million from the Department of Technology, Management, and Budget for additional future COVID-19 Coronavirus needs (Sec. 103).
